Jordan K. Lofthouse

I am a Program Director of Academic & Student Programs, a Senior Fellow with the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.

I received a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University in 2020. Prior to my doctoral program, I received an M.S. in economics in 2016 and a B.S. in geography in 2014, both from Utah State University.

In my role as Program Director of Academic & Student Programs, I run several of the Mercatus Center’s fellowships.

In my role as a Senior Fellow with the Hayek Program, I am working on research related to the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy. Some of my research topics include environmental economics, Native American economic development, entrepreneurship, and disaster recovery.
